Booking Celebrities for National TV Special
Celebrity Booker
I like a challenge. For over fifteen years, I have worked as a Celebrity Booker, Talent Booker and Casting Director. I really value the strong relationships that I have built with agents, managers, publicists, celebrities and booking agents during this time period. I believe that being successful in this business comes from treating people right. It is much better to be honest and sincere. I really care about the talent representatives and celebrities I work with—many have become friends. They trust me because of my proven track record booking celebrities. They know that I would only suggest their celebrity client be featured on a top quality show. I would like to say that there is no A list star that I can’t book.
Talent Producer
I was asked to be the Celebrity Booker/Talent Producer for an A&E Special entitled When Pop Culture Saved America: A 9 11 Story. The focus of this Prime Time Special was on how the entertainment industry helped heal the country after 9 11. I was informed by the Executive Producer/Creator of the Show that the network said there would not be a show unless I was able to book 5 major stars that they wanted. The green light was talent dependent. In other words they wanted at least 5 major stars before they would move forward with the show. Two other top Talent Executives said that it couldn’t be done and passed on the job. I took a moment and said that I am up for the challenge.
Celebrity Booker books more than 80 Top Stars
When the deadline arrived we had nine major celebrities and by the time the show aired, I had booked more than 80 top stars. The celebrity list included: Denis Leary, Dan Rather, Regis Philbin, Ray Romano, Idina Menzel, Harvey Weinstein, Kelly Ripa, Kristin Chenoweth, Billy Ray Cyrus, Danny Aiello, Lance Bass, George Pataki, Alan Jackson, Jane Leeves, Steven Van Zandt, Patricia Heaton, etc. I won a Telly Award for my work as Talent Producer on this Special.
